FocusOS

A cognitive workspace orchestration system. Manages focus sessions, memory persistence, and session continuity for extended reasoning tasks.

INTRODUCTION

FocusOS structures the workspace layer for human-AI collaboration. The system manages focus sessions, cognitive workspaces, and memory persistence to enable extended reasoning tasks that span multiple sessions.

Unlike traditional application interfaces, FocusOS implements a focus-first design: the system tracks what users are working on, maintains context across sessions, and provides predictive cognitive interventions.

CORE FEATURES

Focus Sessions

Structured work periods with defined objectives, context loading, and progress tracking. Sessions maintain cognitive continuity across interruptions.

Workspace Objects

Tasks, notes, projects, artifacts, and journal entries. All objects are tracked via RecallIndexEntry with emotional snapshots and importance scoring.

Contextual Priority System

CPS ranks workspace objects for retrieval. Weights: recency (0.3), frequency (0.25), connections (0.25), AI mentions (0.15), manual boost (0.05).

Predictive Interventions

Aurora provides proactive cognitive support based on session state, task progress, and detected patterns. Action-first execution without confirmation prompts.

INTERFACE PROTOCOL

The Thynaptic Human-AI Interface Protocol governs all interactions within FocusOS:
